Pop-up traffic calming coming to Federal Boulevard in northwest Denver!

by Jessica Vargas on March 7, 2019

The Regis University Community Council and WalkDenver are teaming up once again to bring attention to the urgent safety improvements needed on Federal Boulevard in northwest Denver. We will be hosting a “pop-up” demonstration event at Federal Blvd and W 50th Ave to reduce speeding, improve pedestrian and bicycle connectivity, and make Federal a safer and more pleasant street to travel on.

This pop-up demonstration is a one-day event that will demonstrate street design elements such as curb extensions, shorter pedestrian crossings, protected bike lanes, and bus shelters to show how easy it is to make changes to the street that would make the neighborhood safer and more inviting for people to walk, bike, and take transit. This project is supported by a grant from the AARP Livable Communities Challenge.

Saturday, April 27, 2019
9:00am to 2:00pm
Intersection of Federal Blvd & W 50th Ave

Call for volunteers!

We need plenty of volunteers to make this pop-up happen! We are looking for volunteers on the day of the pop-up to help set up, tear down, and monitor the event. We also need volunteers to help collect data a week before the event. For the complete list of volunteer opportunities and to sign up, visit bit.ly/federal-volunteer. You can also help us spread the word about this event by sharing this flyer [PDF], sharing the event Facebook page, or forwarding this email!
