Our Urban Forest: How Trees Make Walking Enjoyable

by Jennifer Addair on September 7, 2016

Ever notice how walking along a sidewalk or trail lined with trees provides a more pleasant and memorable experience?

If you enjoy walking and trees, join the “Our Urban Forest” walk on October 2 to learn about the role that trees play in promoting walking. WalkDenver board member John Hayden and Denver City Forester Mark Williams will help you identify different trees and what makes them healthy. Plus you’ll explore a variety of topics such as:

  • What trees work and don’t work in Denver?
  • How do we prepare for the Emerald Ash Beatle?
  • What are Denver’s roles for planting trees in the public right of way?

The walk will start at 25th & Stout and explore the Curtis Park and RiNo sections of Five Points.

Join us on October 2, 11am-1pm to experience our Urban Forest in Denver! Support WalkDenver and get your Early Bird tickets (just $7/person) before September 24. Tickets $10/person September 25 – October 2.
