Creating “Great Paths” in Northwest Denver

Join us for a community meeting on Tuesday, October 21, 2014

JeffersonParkChange is in the air within communities along Federal Boulevard in Northwest Denver. New residents, new businesses, people out and about, fulfilling the community vision demonstrated at the Better Block Jefferson Park event in 2012. WalkDenver is now working to build on that success with a new project called “Great Paths” that will promote neighborhood amenities and walking in northwest Denver through quick and low-cost pedestrian improvements.

Please join us for a community meeting October 21, 6:00 PM at Colorado Youth for a Change, 2931 W. 25th Ave, to identify top walking destinations and to gather suggestions for improving pedestrian routes. The effort involves a unique coalition of neighborhood interests including the Federal Blvd Business Improvement District and PartnershipJefferson Park United Neighbors and Sloan’s Lake Citizens Group.

Bring your thoughts and ideas to the community meeting about the destinations you walk (school, restaurant, park, bus stop, grocery store, etc.). Are there barriers along the path to your destinations and what might improve the experience? Are there other paths? The meeting will be a fun and interactive exercise with mapping stations to brainstorm destinations, paths and barriers. The mapping area is roughly bounded by Lowell Blvd to I-25, W. 29th to 20th Ave’s. Refreshments and food will be provided. We hope to see you there!
